Hidden Stories of a Tree will bring to life the living dreams of three of Macao’s most historic and beautiful trees. Through projected color and light, we will create a work of art that represents the life forces flowing throughout each tree, using a changing palette of floating, nature-inspired forms and motions. This installation will create the sense of an ethereal dream, transforms the space into a contemplative zone that entices and awes passers-by, young and old alike. The artists drew inspiration from the history of Lilau Square or Largo de Lilau that represents a mixture of West and East by incorporating Mediterranean atmosphere as well as Chinese architectural concepts. The colorful life forces shown in this mapping relate to the natural spring water in the square that used to provide fresh water to Macao. The popular saying goes “One who drinks from Lilau never forgets Macao”.
